850.00 in the hole

sometimes your husband discovers ebay and becomes and avid bidder

...he doesn't really end up buying anything, but bids every once in a while on cheap items

he puts his max bid

gets bid out

and does it again

sometimes he'll stay up all night under the covers bidding while his cutie wife drools away in her sleep

somtimes your husband looks at you with distraught in his eyes, sweaty palms, and his voice sounds a bit whiney

because. what was supposed to be $8.50 max bid

got entered as $850.00 max bid

please pray for us

Bear

What gives someone the right to take the life of another living thing? Those words keep swirling around my head mixed with the images of my poor baby rabbit Bear laying almost lifelessly on the table in the veternarian clinic- neck crooked, eyes glassy, shaking while breathing in and out.

I decided it was best for our little man to be put to sleep tonight. He was breathing, and now he's not. Because of a choice that I made. I payed with my credit card. And in return I got a big white box. With the bottom still warm from his fuzzy little body.

I still do feel it was best- and I'm glad I lifted that lid to say goodbye to him. His eyes were closed, his head normal, and his tiny little body looked peaceful.

But I still don't think it's fair that I can make decisions like that. It sounds stupid I know, but this experience tugged at my heartstrings a little bit.

marshmallows, shaving cream and cheetos

Speaking of cheetos. Almost 3/4 of a whole bag of cheetos I consumed yesterday. SERIOUSLY?! Seriously. Cheetos and gummy bears, oh, my weaknesses. Anyway.

-That was it, until about 11:00 pm when me and Jory ate dinner. I won't go into it, but let me tell you it wasn't our best hygienic- healthy- active-get-very-much-done-Saturday.

BECAUSE... It was Scotty's birthday party! We've been promising him a fun one for 2 years now. So it was yesterday and it turned out great. Lots of funny games. Food. Crafts... and a glow in the dark dance party, of course! What would be better for 7 ten year olds? (PS these kids were all in the fourth grade- and let me tell you, I commend Jory even more for being a 4th grade teacher. After hanging out with these vocal chord extremists for 3 long hours I thought I was gonna loose it. They're crazy!)

The boys had to participate too in the tower building festivities

(he's just too darn cute)

trying to stick cheetos by throwing on a shaving cream face = S O F U N N Y

scavenger hunt to find dancing materials

What happends downstairs with glowsticks and led lights- stays down stairs

THE ipod cake! Yes, we slaved. Jor war right there beside me rolling and dying fondant, too. He's so awesome. It's all edible!

my cutest spoiled adorable brother! I ♥

old man

So I've jumped on the band-wagon like everyone else in the world and trying to go green. Not so much green, but more healthy. We're drinking drinks with spinach in them, watching our soda intake and trying to work out.

I recently thought it'd be a good idea for us to start taking multi-vitamins- so every morning I put out little fun concoctions for Jory and I to take. He just loves it. : )
A lot of the time says he "forgets" to take his pills that I so-motherly put out for him. But I really don't think he does. Shh.

Last week after another accusation of "forgetting pills" Jory asked, "what the heck are you even making me take?"- while opening the cupboard, and then asked...

Jory- "50+"?
Sarah- "Yeah, like there's 50 different types of vitamins in it."
Jory- "OR... it's for guys 50 and older??"
Sarah- "Haha, oh, or it could be that."

Ohhh what we put our men through.
He's still taking his 50 + pills...

a lovers getaway

I think we're starting a tradition.
Every Valentine's Day weekend me and Jory like to go on a "getaway" at least an hour away (this is only our second time, mind you). Somewhere where we don't normally go- somewhere over night- and maybe something a little awkward.

Last year we went to Lava Hot Springs and stayed in the most funny, animal infested, bed and breakfast. It was allergic and awkward and so much fun!

SOOO this Valentines we went to... the huge, the glorious... MANTI!
We turned off our cell phones to take away distractions and held hands like newly weds everywhere we went.

The weekend consisted of greasy burgers at a drive-in with the most comforting fireplace I've ever stood by. We went to the temple- it just amazes me how beautiful those are inside! It was gorgeous. Our hotel was room- was old. The Manti House Inn was originally built in 1888 so if that tells you anything about how modern, classy, or new it was- it wasn't. But the lace draped everywhere and oversized jetted tub made it all worth it!

After a dinner that wasn't a drive-in or lotsa motsa pizza (miraculously!) we took a walk where we ended up laughing our guts out on a teeter-totter.

I never forget how much I love my husband, but some weekends it becomes more apparent.

teevee

Some may say that we have a t.v. from 1985. (it actually has been said.)

But not anymore!

Jordon (my brother) got a hd 50 inch(ish?) t.v. from the beautiful ksl for free-the t.v. didn't work. It would turn on, then turn right back off again. Jory and Jay being the machos that they are, thought that they could put their brains together and make that big ol thing work.

So, about a month ago- they diagnosed it, then bought some parts on amazon (for thirty bucks) including, a soldering kit and some computer chip things that I really have no idea what they are.
The parts came, and the soldering kit stunk- so that awesomely huge t.v. started making a home for itself in our kitchen, collecting dust.

UNTIL ... dun dun dun. Last weekend. Jay brought over a super duper soldering kit and we- no no, I did nothing in this, THEY, got working.
They literally melted off melted, sucked it out, replaced computer chips and melted metal back in to secure them. It was pretty crazy and I honestly have been pretty impressed.

sooo cute when they concentrate

So, motherboard put back into place, wires clamped, and screws tightened... here's what happened next.
We seriously weren't expecting anything to happen.

Now it sits where it belongs and I have my kitchen back. Technically I really don't have my kitchen back, now in the teevees spot is taken over by the most adorable baby bunnies you've ever seen. Despite what Jory thinks I couldn't be happier thy're in the kitchen and really, I wish they were in our room- but don't tell him that I said that. )
